Title | Die Toepassing van Kapitaalinvesteringsmetodes deur Nie-Vervaardigingsondernemings
Creator | Lambrechts, I. J.
Description | Dr Lambrechts suggests in this paper that it is generally believed the capital investment methods applied by manufacturing organizations are scientifically more advanced than those applied by non-manufacturing organizations. His findings stem from an empirical investigation of a number of noted industrial and commercial undertakings in South Africa, and highlight a number of shortcomings in the capital investment practices of the group of non-manufacturing concerns investigated. His findings indicate also a large number of differences, in terms of previously defined criteria, between the capital investment practices of non-manufacturing organizations and those of manufacturing organizations. Dr Lambrechts concludes that the general belief that manufacturing concerns use more scientific capital investment techniques than others seems to be valid and he identifies a number of possible reasons why this is the case.
