Description Different views exist as far as corporate social involvement is concerned. In the long run, however, business will have to take notice of what society expects in this respect. In order to measure these expectations of society, a 5-point Likert scale was developed. The scale was completed by a sample of 94 persons and tested for its validity and reliability. The results show that subjects involved in the survey definitely expect from business some extent of social involvement. Because of the limited sample, however, these results must only be viewed as an indication of what society expects from the business community.
