Description Nine new taxa are described and a new combination is made in the genus Ficinia (Cyperaceae). An examination of F. pygmaea Boeck. and F. limosa Levyns leads to the conclusion that these two species are conspecific.F. clandestina (Steud.) Boeck., endemic to Ethiopia, is considered not to belong to Ficinia. Its true identity is unknown.
