Description Various factors which contribute to perceptual development and the close relationship of sensory and motor influences to normal development are discussed in the hope of encouraging therapists who work in the developmental field to incorporate appropriate, graded sensory stimuli into their treatment repertoire. The sensory-motor link and the importance of tactile and vestibular systems to the normal development of a perceptual schema are discussed.
