Description Die verbindings R₄NTaCl₆ met R = CH₃ of C₄H₉ is berei deur R₄NCl met TaCl₅ in SOCl₂ te refluks. Die verbindings tesame met C₂H₅AICL₂ (Al/Ta molverhouding = 2,5) vorm geskikte katalisatorsisteme vir die siklotrimerisasie van asetileen om benseen te vorm. The compounds R₄NTaCI₆ with R = CH₃ or were synthesized by refluxing R₄NCI and TaCl₅ in SOCl₂ If C₂H₅AICI is added to R₄NTaCI₆ (Al/Ta molar ratio = 2,5) a suitable catalytic system is formed for the cyclotrimerization of acetylene to produce benzene.
