In die onderrig word die absent op die kwantitaiewe aspekte van die vak geplaas, terwyl die kwatitatiewe aspekte min aandag kry. The role of models in the teaching of physics has been recognised since die early eighties. At present the emphasis in teaching is on the quantitative aspects of physics. Insufficient attention is paid to the qualitative aspects. The consequence is that high school pupils university students and even teachers have problems to understand physics.
