Description Riviere in Suid-Afrika is ‘n belangrike waterbron en onderhou ‘n ryk biodiversiteit van fauna en flora. Toenemende druk op hierdie riviere en hulle opvanggebiede kan ʼn enorme impak op die lewe wat hulle onderhou, uitoefen. Aquatic macro-invetrebrates and selected abiotic factors were used to evaluate the river health. Preliminary results indicate that the ecological categories of the study sites vary from natural to critically modified and that the Target Water Quality Range is hardly ever met.
