Description The contribution proposes a novel method for reduction of voltage drop across Darlington circuits when used as power switches and reports preliminary experimental results. The compensation leads to at least an effective doubling of the energy efficiency of the switch while no detrimental effects on current fall time have been found. The scheme is easily realisable in modern electronic technology. Die bydrae stel ’n nuwe metode vir die vermindering van die spanningsval van Darlingtonbane vir gebruik in drywingskakelaars voor en rapporteer die eksperimentele resultate. Hierdie kompensasie het ten minste ’n verdubbeling van die energiebenuttigingsgraad van die skakelaar tot gevolg, het geen verslegting van die valtyd van die stroom tot gevolg nie en is maklik realiseerbaar in moderne elektroniese tegnologie.
