Description The article deals with the relapse and maintenance of fluency skills in an adult stutterer following a "fluency-based" treatment programme. Recordings of speech were made at relevant intervals throughout an eight-month period. Immediately after intensive treatment, fluency was established and rate and attitudes normalized. The deterioration of these behaviours and their re-instatement is described.
