Kuyper did not agree with higher criticism on Scripture, but also warned against a pietistic view of Scripture. Bultmann desired to rid Scripture of mythology, but also had to appeal directly to as- pects of Scripture. In mission, the essential aspects like sin, heaven, hell and salvation still need to be acknowledged though in an exegetically and hermeneutically sound way. | |
