Description In this article it is contended that God himself instructs his covenant people in a concrete and visible manner by revealing Himself to this people. Attention is paid to God as subject of instruction, the parents as subjects of instruction and the people of the covenant as subject of instruction. Furthermore, extensive attention is paid to the aim of instructing the children of the covenant by celebrating the Passover. In this respect the dimensions of seeing, hearing and knowing as perspectives of cardinal importance in instructing children are analysed. Finally, guidelines are given for the praxis of instructing children of the covenant in faith.
