Next the influence of Hellenism on the first-century societies is highlighted. The communal meals in which Jesus, according to the Gospels, participated, is studied to establish whether He inaugurated a change in values. Finally the socio-historic context of the communal meal in Acts 2:42 is typified in the light of the conclusions. | |
