Description The concept of honour as a key to the interpretation of Psalm 133 Despite the fact that its text is quite straightforward, the imagery of Psalm 133, combined with its brevity, poses some interpretational problems. In this paper it is proposed that consideration of the role played by the societal core value of honour in Israel can throw some light on the questions about the relationship between and the combined meaning of images such as that of brothers living together, oil running down from the beard of Aaron, and Yahweh’s commanding of blessing from Zion.
