Description Stress, as experienced by high level black workers in South Africa. The purpose of this study was to identify the way in which high-level black workers experience stress. From literature surveys it appears that the experience of stress can be emotional in nature. This impression was confirmed by a workshop in which a group of blacks participated. At the workshop, the meaning attached to stress emotions was also expressed in a concrete, specific way. In the light of the above, a number of recommendations are made.
